IANA

Internet Assigned Numbers Authority – is the entity that oversees global IP address allocation. It is operated by a governing body called ICANN. Originally, all IPv4 addresses were managed directly by IANA. Later parts of the address space were allocated to various other registries to manage for particular purposes and regions.
